Board of Directors
Welcome! My name is Jessica May and I am the Co-Founder/President and CEO of Renewed Strength Ministries. As a devoted Christian, I seek to follow God’s will for my life. The summer of 2018 was when He gave me a mission and a vision, by opening my eyes to a world of hurting boys who are sexually exploited and trafficked. This is where God is calling me to serve! He is using my own personal life experiences, my management of a business for 15 years, and my growth in various ministries at church to prepare me for this time. He is still equipping me! During the summer, I went to a juvenile sex trafficking conference and grew in my knowledge of domestic minor sex trafficking. It was then that He helped me to see the need for a residential home where young boys can experience full healing and restoration. With the help of our church communities, family, friends, staff, and volunteers, we can accomplish just that.
As a mother and wife, I am devoted to caring for those around me, especially those who cannot help themselves. I also enjoy spending time with my family, singing with my choir and praise team at church, painting, hiking, and cooking. I have a wonderful husband, one lovely daughter and two fuzzy cats! I am empathetic towards the needs and hurts of others, which is why I feel God has chosen me to be His vessel and carry out this purpose. As Isaiah the prophet said “…He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.” (Isaiah 61:1b) That’s exactly what I intend to do!
Co-Founder/President and CEO
Greetings! My name is Kimberly Vander Ven, serving as the Co-Founder/Vice President on the Board of Directors and Director of Program Development for the residential home of Renewed Strength Ministries. I am first and foremost a daughter of the King, and as such, a humble receiver of His grace, love, and mercy each day. I am also an honored mother of three wonderful children with another blessing on the way! I actively served in a privately-owned early childhood facility for close to thirteen years, where I was able to exercise and develop patience, clear communication, empathy, and determination. The years I had teaching broadened my understanding of and the need for holistic education and heightened my level of desire to make a difference in the lives of those I teach, guide, and lead.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Ministry Leadership from Toccoa Falls College, which provided the foundation for my servant style leadership, and equipped me to encourage, support, and direct students, fellow volunteers, and teams in order to facilitate growth within the church community and non-profit organizations. I enjoy witnessing the spiritual, mental, physical, and emotional growth of people of all ages and being able to help prepare them for the walk of life God has called them to. In my spare time I find joy in painting, musical endeavors, and a variety of outdoor activities. Christian education and serving are personal passions of mine, and I wish to see everyone reach their full potential and flourish through a purposeful mission, guidance, and overarching support.

Co-Founder/Vice President and Director of Program Development
My name is DeAnn Silvia, currently serving as secretary on the Board of Directors for Renewed Strength Ministries. As a follower of Christ, I want to show the love, forgiveness, and compassion to others that I have received from Him. I am committed to serving the least of these. “...Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." Matthew 25:40
I am blessed to be an Air Force wife and mother of two grown children. After graduating with a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Kansas, I worked as a social worker in both Kansas and California before deciding to home school my children. Over the next 13 years, I proctored and taught countless co-op classes and was happy to be surrounded by children. After my youngest began college, I became a part-time caregiver to a spirited 94 yr old and also became a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for children in foster care. I enjoy reading, music, theater, hiking and holding babies.
I have always loved children and over the years, God has given me a heart of compassion, especially for at-risk youth who spend their childhood just trying to survive. I am excited to be part of providing a place where rescued children can start to heal, learn to hope, and have help preparing for a successful future.
